LLANGOLLEN CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL

This year’s Christmas Festival will take place on Saturday 26th November. The Festival will start with Sion Corn’s (Welsh Santa) arrival by steam train at the station and then he will lead a parade starting at 1.00pm through the streets to the Town Hall where he will have his Grotto. Children will be able to visit him and receive a small gift. To avoid waiting a long time in a queue to see him arrangements are being made for tickets to be sold in advance for half hour time intervals. Those tickets will be available from the Town Hall Office and Tourist Information Office.

The new Christmas Lights will be switched on at 5.30pm but before that there will be lots of entertainment to keep adults and children amused. The Silver Band will be playing, School Choirs, Melodic Mondays Ladies singers, Operatic Society members, Llangollen Pantomime Group, and others. There will be a number of Circus Acts, Morris Dancing, Magician, Facepainting and Storytelling at Courtyard Books. Oak Street will be closed to traffic and there will be Children’s Rides and Games and music also. Market Stall will be dotted around the town and Hog Roast, Hot Chestnuts and Mulled Wine to keep you warm.

A Raffle is being held and prizes donated so far include a week’s free accommodation in Turkey.

Pitches will be available at various locations across the town for those who bring their own Market Stalls at a cost of £20 and anyone interested should contact Ian Parry on 01978 861345. Ring this number for any other information about the Christmas Festival

So come along, bring the kids and all your friends and have a really enjoyable Christmas Treat!

All net proceeds from the Festival will be donated to Hope House Hospice.
